Pre-registration for Reunion & Wine Tour

Today is the last day to pre-register for reunion (walk-ins will still be welcomed on campus!) Registration website is here: http://alumni.cornell.edu/reunion/

Also the Class of ’96 is teaming up with other classes for a Winery Tour on Friday June 10.  It’s $40 per person, and people should email amc1@cornell to register — last day is TODAY!

Wine Tour Schedule:
9:30am Bus arrives at Risley
9:45am Bus departs Risley
10:30am Lucas Vineyards
11:45am CTB picnic lunch at Cayuga Ridge
12:30pm Cayuga Ridge Winery
1:30pm Swedish Hill Vineyards
3:00pm Goose Watch Winery
4:30pm Bus returns to Risley

Bag lunch from Collegetown Bagels:
(1) Smoked Turkey with cheddar cheese, sprouts, and aioli on a multigrain roll
(2) Roast Beef with red onions and horseradish sauce on an onion roll
(3) Fresh Mozzarella with tomato, basil pesto, and mayonnaise on gluten-free bread (vegetarian and gluten-free)
Each sandwich comes with an assorted jumbo cookie (gluten-free available), individual bag of chips, and a soda or juice.

NYC Pre-reunion happy hour next Wednesday 16-March at the Cornell Club

A special pre-Reunion event:

The Metro-NY Pre-Reunion Happy Hour is March 16 in NYC!

Join friends and classmates on Wednesday, March 16, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Cornell Club of New York for the wildly popular Pre-Reunion Happy Hour. Undergraduate classmates of the 1s and 6s, including graduates of the Johnson and Law schools, are cordially invited to gather in celebration of their upcoming Reunion.

Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and good conversation, and begin making plans to enjoy Cornell’s campus to the fullest this coming June. Pre-registration is required: we can only accommodate 225 people. On-site walk-ins will be accommodated only if space allows.

-Hot Truck Dinner Sandwiches on Thursday night at ’96 Headquarters

-Friday night cocktail reception with hors d’ouevres at the Johnson Museum (specialty cocktails have been created for the Class of ’96 by Felicia’s, a local bar in Ithaca that uses only organic local & seasonal ingredients)

-Fun-in-the-Sun carnival for kids Saturday afternoon on the Arts Quad

-Saturday night Dinosaur BBQ dinner on Beebe Lake (canoeing available on the lake during dinner)

-Special farewell breakfast buffet on Sunday morning (continental breakfast also on Friday and Saturday mornings)

-Tent parties with music and drinks on the Arts Quad everynight!

Class of ’96 Fifteen Year Reunion! Thurs June 9 – Sunday June 12, 2011

Can you believe that it’s been fifteen years already since we graduated from Cornell?  By now, we’ve all established ourselves firmly in our lives, and for many of us, our time on the hill is a very warm memory from almost half a lifetime away.  This summer we have the opportunity to head back to the university from which many of us set sail into the world to do our big things or our not so big things.

Reunion year brings alumni back from all over the world to catch up with old friends and see what Cornell has been doing with itself since we moved on.  It also gives us the chance to share our stories in the very landscape where they were formed with spouses, significant others, and children who may never have been there.

Please mark your calendar and join hundreds of your former classmates if you can in Ithaca late this springtime for our 15 year reunion!

Reunion Wrapup

Dear ‘96 Classmates:

It was so great to see you and all of your friends and family at our 10th Reunion! An almost record breaking 549 adults and 36 children joined us in Ithaca in June to celebrate the ten years since we graduated. Here is a recap of the weekend:

West Campus changed a lot since we were undergrads. Several of the U-Halls have already been torn down to make way for Alice Cook and Carl Becker Houses, part of the new residential college system. Classmates stayed in Class of ‘18 and Class of’26 Halls. I’m sure many of you have fond memories of freshman year in a U-Hall. We were fortunate to have our Class Headquarters in Noyes Center, which is soon to be demolished to make way for a new community center facility. We had a lounge area, pool tables, a popcorn machine and a big screen TV for classmates to enjoy throughout the weekend.
